TURNING INLAND
Last day at the beach. So far we have followed the Malabar coast, but next step is inland to Mysore. After that we might need a couple of internal flights if we are to make it to Delhi for the flight home. Tonight we board our first overnight train, something Dave has wanted to do and I will hope for the best, so that will be a new experience to add to the list. We arrive in Mysore around 4am, so hope we can find the hotel and that their assurance of 'No problem' arriving that time is the truth!
It is strange to think we left the UK in snow, and that it is still cold and possibly wet. Here the temperature is climbing; not sure exactly what, but well in the 30s, and getting a wee bit more humid. Hard to think that the garden will still be bare at home, unless the daffodils have made it. Here in the gardens there are clematis , magnolia stellata and multiflora, anthurium, kinds of busy lizzie and geranium, strelitzia ,purple waterlilies and even agapanthus in flower under the coconut palms.
It has been a lovely gentle break, views of tatty rattan chairs awaiting occupancy at breakfast, beach to walk and birds to watch in the afternoon, sunset to observe before shower and dinner in the evening - such a busy time! Onwards to something more demanding now.....
